My 2nd Stitch Fix Box! April 2015

Welcome to Petite Mom Living!! Thanks so much for taking time to read my review of Stitch Fix Box #2! I really wish I would have taken pictures of myself trying everything on but I didn’t know I was going to write about them, my third Stitch Fix Review will up shortly and I took pictures of everything!!

So this is how Stitch Fix works: You fill out a very detailed style profile explaining every aspect of your style and how you like things to feel and fit! You set the price range for each category along with what you would like to receive in your fix, like whether you would like all tops, or no jewelry, etc.. Then you schedule your Fix!! Your personal stylist will handpick five items for you which can include tops, pants, dresses, jewelry, purses, etc.. It is free shipping both ways. Keep what you love and send back what you don’t in a prepaid mailer!! No need to subscribe even though you can if you like! The cool thing is when you schedule your fix you can send your stylist a personal note explaining if there is something specific you would like that month!! When you receive your Fix you will get a little note from your stylist explaining why she picked what she did, and a style card showing different ways to wear each piece! And make sure you try everything on, even if you don’t like it at first. I seriously hated one of my tops until I tried it on and it ended up being my favorite! There is a $20 styling fee initially but that will come off the price of anything you keep even if you keep just one thing!! If  you decide to try it please use my link here so I can keep doing these posts on what I love 🙂

So when I signed up for my next box I was a little more specific on some items I was wanting, I had read several blogs on how to get a great box. I requested a certain Maxi dress and they were out of my size 🙁 . I also requested a jean jacket and a pair of distressed skinny jeans. In my style profile I did select the option of not getting any accessories but I’m sure I will request them sometime! So let’s get to it!

Item #1 Kut From The Kloth Aviva Boyfriend Jean- Sent Back

When I requested a pair of distressed skinny  jeans this was not what I was expecting. My stylist wrote on my card that she did not have any distressed skinny jeans available in my size so she thought I might like these… uh no….these were not me at all! I didn’t like the first pair of boyfriend jeans in my first box! Lol I did send a little note to Stitch Fix about me expressing how much I hated the first pair and why did they send me another pair!!?? They were super awesome and gave me a credit just for not listening to my feedback.

Item #2 Just USA Morrie Boyfriend Denim Jacket-Sent Back

stitchfixclothes5

I wanted to love this jacket so much! I tried it on with several other pieces I already had and I just couldn’t do it. It was way to big and bulky for me even though it was a small.

Item #3 Gilli Zuli Maxi Dress-KEPT!!!

1203 1199

At first I was disappointed that I didn’t get the Maxi dress I requested but after three days of trying this on I fell in love!! The dress is super flattering on my small figure and I loved pairing it with this cute little jean jacket I already had! This is why I love Stitch Fix so much, even if I find one piece that I love it is all worth it!

Item #4 Sweet Rain Chrissy V-Neck Blouse- Sent Back

stitchfixclothes4

Initially I really liked this tank, it was a very pretty material and very different than what I would normally wear. It just didn’t look very flattering on me, it hung way to loose and I’m not a fan of V-necks.

Item #5 Renee C Tucker Crocket Trim Top- Sent Back

stitchfixclothes3

I loved this top, I should have kept it! The material was so so different I can’t even explain how it felt, very slinky but not see through or too thick. The only reason I didn’t keep this was the lace all around the neck and arms. The lace hung very loose and awkward. I still dream about this top though, lol….

There’s my review! And again if you’re interested at all pretty please use my link here so I can receive a credit. My next review (May 2015) will be up soon and all I’ll say is that it rocked!! Pics to come! Thanks and God Bless!! Monica

Choosing to be happy!

Do you ever find yourself scrolling down your Facebook feed with just shaking your head and a frown on your face? I find myself doing this constantly, actually way too much to admit. I wonder if these people are truly happy…I always love the person that posts a million “how many times I worked out this week!!” updates, as if the rest of us don’t feel enough mom guilt (or dad guilt) for not going to the gym. And there’s the ever so popular “I’m just bored…selfie” don’t get me started! Lol   No but seriously the best part of my day today was in the car on the way to the swim lessions in my ever so awesome swagger wagon. Lily begged me to put in my Newboys cd in which I obliged. When “God’s Not Dead” came on I’m pretty sure we got more than a few “you’re weird” looks because the lady five cars back could here us all including my three year old singing “God’s not dead he’s surely alive!!” at the top of our lungs! I honestly could care less who heard me or seen our mini American Idol audition. Because we were happy, not just happy, joyful.. We don’t get that many moments in our lives. You know the ones you just want to bottle up and hold tight. I think most of these moments are a choice, when most choose to complain, you could substitute for a few moments like this. Life isn’t perfect, and neither are we. But God made us to love and be happy. So when I ask my kids tonight what the best part of their day was, which I ask every night, mine will not be how many times I was on Pinterest or Twitter but it was our own little concert in the car, with only us as the audience… choosing to be happy… 🙂

My First Stitch Fix Box!! Fix #1

So it all started one snowy morning while watching the Today Show. Their story featured this new unique way to shop online and actually allow someone to shop for you! As they were explaining their story my husband even said “Well how cool, you should try that! (once)” LOL Yeah right just once (insert eye roll).

So let’s get to it, here was what I received my first Fix! I regret not taking pics of everything but I will from now on!!

Item #1 Pixley Ivy Petal Print Blouse- KEPT

So when I pulled this out of the box I immediately thought “I don’t like this”, but then I tried it on and amazingly I loved it!!! I paired it with white shorts and with my skinny jeans and this turned out to be my favorite item!!

Item #2 Pixley Triste Swing Skirt-SENT BACK

This skirt was super cute and I really liked it with the Black Rob Henley Blouse, but it was a tad bit too small 🙁

Item #3 Kut From the Kloth Haiden Distressed Straight Leg Jean-SENT BACK

These jeans fit amazing around my legs and hips, I really couldn’t believe how well they fit without my stylist actually fitting me in person! But with that being said I am only 4′ 11″ and the straight leg fit (boyfriend fit) didn’t flatter my small stature at all.                  stitch2

Item #4 Daniel Rainn Rob Henley Blouse-KEPT

This shirt was so soft and the material is so different. It is a little like polka dots but softer and sheer. I loved this one right away. It looks so cute with skinny jeans or dressier with a maxi skirt!!

1164 1169

Item #5 Market and Spruce Aleah V-Neck Heathered Dolman Sleeve Shirt-SENT BACK

I have some serious buyers remorse with this one, there have been many times I wish I would have kept this one! It was so soft and flattering. It looked so cute with skinny jeans too, but for $48 it didn’t make the cut.
